Dear Members,
Let me begin by expressing what an honor it is to serve as President of
the Lathrop District Chamber of Commerce for three consecutive years.
Lathrop is a wonderful and thriving community. It is home to a broad and
diverse business community complied of small and large businesses in an
array of industries. In the past three years, the Chamber has more than
doubled in membership. We are proud to distribute our first Membership
Directory!
Our mission statement tells it all. “The Lathrop District Chamber of
Commerce is the gateway to community business and economic
development. Our goal is to foster a positive and ethical relationship
with our members and visitors. We strive to build strong relationships and be the central source of
information for new and existing businesses we keep our members abreast of matters that affect the
businesses and community alike.”
The Lathrop Chamber has built a sturdy infrastructure that is strong and supportive by focusing on
opportunities for businesses and the community to unite. We host monthly Chamber coffee and mixers
which allow members to showcase their business to the community. In addition, the Chamber also
sponsors “Coffee with the Mayor.” This unique forum spotlights a different business every month in an open forum, where the mayor comes and disseminates information and answer questions about community affairs. Furthermore, the Chamber participates in charitable causes that support the Lathrop community, such as the historic Relay for Life campaign.
We are excited to announce the month of July has been declared the
Lathrop District Chamber of Commerce Month by the city of Lathrop. This is history for our chambers; the success achieved thus far would not have been possible without a wonderful supportive board of directors and members. Our board has played a pivotal role in our achievement.
We look forward to more exciting opportunities on the horizon for 2010.
Mary Kennedy-Bracken
